It is based on goals established by this technical team for 42V energy storage systems and to some extent derives from earlier hybrid test procedures used by the Partnership for a New Generation of Vehicles (PNGV) program (now FreedomCAR) sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy along with Daimler Chrysler, Ford and General Motors.
