RDS RDSQN8006 is a FM transceiver chip which also supports RDS/RBDS function. RDS/RBDS is means radio data system. RDS is the standard of Europe and RBDS is the American standard. All the RDS data are carried on a subcarrier which adds to the stereo multiplex signal. During stereo broadcasts the subcarrier frequency will be locked to the third harmonic of the 19 kHz pilot-tone. The basic data-rate of the system is 1187.5 bit/s ± 0.125 bit/s .
