This document specifies a communication system for use with boilers and room controls, which can also be applied to similar devices in the same or related applications. The characteristics and communications features of both the infrastructure and the attached devices are specified in detail. This document does not provide a prescriptive solution for OpenTherm-compatible controllers, but rather specifies the requirements for such a solution.
