Abstract : This t hesis is devoted to t he discussion of t he cont radictory aspect s in Hamlet’ s character and t he analysis over t he forming of all t hese cont radictions. It draws t he conclusion t hat t he cont radictions are due to t he catast rophe t hat falls upon Hamlet , his inexperience to cope wit h it and his excessively speculative mind , which put him in a state of miserable melancholy and lead to his t ragedy.
