Everybody and his brother have had bad experiences with cryptic books, and papers that hide more than show the author's contributions. For in- stance, Pierre-Simon, Le Marquis de Laplace, inserted only one ¯gure in his M¶echanique Celeste and, like Mel Gibson, Peano has written his Arithmetices Principia Novo Methodo Exposita in Latin! I guess that the guy who had the idea of publishing books for dummies made a lot of money. He perceived that most people would rather be called dummy than face Laplace. But since you neither want to be called dummy nor are willing to face Le Marquis, the title of this doc is Prolog for tyros, not for dummies.
