LinVst-X（X表示Extra）增加了对Windows vst插件的支持，这些插件将在支持Linux vst的DAW中使用。

LinVst-X在单个Wine流程中运行vst插件，因此相互通信的插件或可以在实例之间使用共享样本的插件将能够与其他实例进行通信。
这意味着插件实例可以彼此通信（LinVst无法实现），例如，不同轨道上的Voxengo GlissEQ和Fabfilter ProQ-3实例同时显示轨道频谱，而在使用同一库而不是相同库的不同轨道上显示Kontakt实例必须为每个新实例加载样本等。
在一个进程中运行的插件不会被沙盒化，因此，如果一个插件崩溃，那么整个插件可能会崩溃。
最好使用已经与LinVst一起运行的插件和/或使用TestVst测试在Wine下插件如何运行。
