Intel(R) Mobile Platform Programmer's Guide The Intel® Mobile Platform Provider Development Kit (Intel® Mobile Platform PDK) is a set of tools that enables you to write DLL plug-ins, called providers, for the Intel® Mobile Platform SDK. You can write providers that enhance the information provided by the default providers in the Intel® Mobile Platform SDK runtime. The Intel® Mobile Platform PDK includes templates of supported devices and a testing harness. Third party developers, such as Linksys*, can create these providers if they desire to create specific instance providers for the runtime. Internally you can use the Intel® Mobile Platform PDK to separate the development of instance providers from the development of the runtime. Mobility presents unique challenges for software developers, as well as exciting opportunities. The platform resources, such as processing power, memory capacity and screen size of mobile devices, such as notebook computers, PDAs and mobile phones, are limited compared to those of a desktop computer, and they vary across different mobile platforms. Optimized mobility-aware software must be able to manage resources and context. To successfully address these requirements, developers need a mobile software platform that can simplify the task of mobilizing diverse applications. Any workable solution needs to satisfy the needs of developers, as well as users.
