Welcome to the WANdisco world of replication. JIRA is designed to run as a central server to which multiple JIRA clients connect. WANdisco’s replication technology makes it possible to have multiple active replicas of a JIRA databse that are in synch. The JIRA replicas can be anywhere on a WAN - distributed throughout a company’s campus or throughout the world. WANdisco users experience the performance of a local JIRA database, with the semantics of a single shared JIRA database. We call this "active replication with one-copy-equivalence."
