LCD TV pushes the demand for driver IC. Generally, LCD TV has higher resolution than NB panel and LCD monitor so the consumption per panel for driver IC is higher than NB and LCD monitor. Moreover, as the size increase for LCD TV, especially over 37”, the consumption per panel for gate IC has to be doubled due to the request of double scanning technology. Therefore, the explosive growth for LCD TV demand drives huge consumption for driver IC in 2006.
