This explains all the basic steps required to implement a file to file scenario. I have chosen a simple File to File scenario because it covers all the steps that is required for creating any other kind of scenarios. I am going to explain all the steps in detail. Scenario Suppose, you want to transfer a XML file from one system (Sender) to another system (Receiver) and also converting from one XML format to another XML format then you will use XI as an integration tool between the two systems.
