Executive Summary Juniper Networks, Inc. developed JUNOS Internet software so that it is highly interoperable with Cisco IOS. This paper provides a brief synopsis of configuring routing filters in JUNOS software using a working knowledge of IOS. Each example shows both a JUNOS and an IOS configuration. Note, this paper is not a recommendation for specific topologies or configurations. To use this paper, we recommend that you be very familiar with the structure and function that a border or distribution router handles (for example, service provider BGP routing policy). We also recommend that you are familiar with JUNOS software and IOS software, Juniper Networks router architecture, and the configurations related to service provider functionality according to routing policies.
