1.1 Overview The start date for the Flood Risk Management Research Consortium Phase 2 (FRMRC2) is the 1st January 2009. The project has a four year duration which gives an end date of 31st December 2011. This first year report covers progress in the 17 month period from the 1st January 2008 to 31st May 2009. Research within the overall project is arranged into five Super Work Packages (SWPs). i. SWP1 Inundation Modelling – Catchment Flooding ii. SWP2 Inundation Modelling – Coastal Flooding iii. SWP3 Urban Flood Modelling iv. SWP4 Infrastructure Management v. SWP5 Land Use Management The following chapters 1 to 5 provide a detailed account of progress to date in each of these. Additionally, chapters 6 and 7 provide information on the progress achieved in project integration and dissemination.
