This manual describes the VHDL portion of Synopsys FPGA Compiler II / FPGA Express, part of the Synopsys suite of synthesis tools. FPGA Compiler II / FPGA Express reads an RTL VHDL model of a discrete electronic system and synthesizes this description into a gate-level netlist. VHDL is defined by IEEE Standard 1076 and the United States Department of Defense Standard MIL-STD-454L. Appendix B and Appendix C summarize the level of Synopsys support for all VHDL packages and constructs.
