Electric motor drives
It has been eight years since my book, Con trol The ory of Elect ric Machi nery, was
pu blished in Korea n. In the past six years, mor e than 2500 copies of the book have
been sold in Korea. Some of them are used as a textbook for a gradu ate course at
several universitie s in Korea . But most of them are used as a ref erence book in the
indus try. After publishi ng the book in Korean, I received a lot of encour agement and
inqui ry to translat e the book into Engli sh. But my tight schedule has dela yed the
tra nslation. However, four year s ago, several fore ign student s and visitors attende d my
gradu ate course class and they need some stud y materia ls so I was forced to transl ate
the book into En glish. After two year s of hard work, the English- version man uscript is
now ready for publica tion. During the tran slation, the contents of this book was
revise d and upgraded. I hope that this book will be a good reference for the stud ents
and engi neers in the field.
