在调度中时间窗口的冲突 Client 5 Time Window: when backups may start 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. Client 1 Client 2 Client 3 Client 5 9:45 a.m. 10:45 a.m. 11:45 a.m. 12:45 p.m. 1:05 p.m. X Client 4 This job does not run: Error 196. >>>Before you continue configuring the schedule, it is important to understand how the backup duration impacts the backup schedule. The backup start window identified the time periods during which NetBackup can start backups or archives for this schedule. These time periods are referred to as backup windows. You can create backup windows as necessary to satisfy your backup requirements. In this example, you have clients 1 through 5 that need to be backed up. The backup start window is the 4 hour time slot from 9am to 1pm. >>>Let’s say each backup takes 60 minutes, and the Client 1 job starts at 9:05. So, if the client 1 job started at 9:05 and the job ran for 60 minutes, client 1’s job would end at 10:05, and then client 2’s job would kick off at 10:05 and run to 11:05. Client 3’s job would go from 11:05 to 12:05. And, Client 4’s job would start at 12:05 and run to 1:05. The job would complete even though the completion time is outside the window. >>> Now, client 5 would try to kick off at 1:05, which is outside the window, so it would get a 196 error indicating that the backup window was closed. It sounds pretty bad for client 5, but NetBackup is pretty smart, and the next day it is smart enough to realize that client 5 didn’t run yesterday so it needs to run today. When client 5 finishes, then it starts over with clients 1, 2, and 3. But probably Client 4 wouldn’t get to run, and the next day it would have to catch up with client 4. So you can see that in this scenario NetBackup would always be playing catch-up. The only way to ensure that you get all 5 backups, is to either lengthen the backup window or shorten the time the backup runs.
