Setup Instructions STEP 1: Install the Software (look for PL2303 file on CD) • First, install the driver for your version of Windows • Note: there are separate drivers for Windows XP and Windows Vista STEP 2: Plug-in the Hardware • Connect the USB-to-serial adapter to your PC's USB port, and follow the on-screen instructions STEP 3: Set the Right COM Port • Right click on MY COMPUTER then click PROPERTIES • Click HARDWARE, then DEVICE MANAGER • Double click PORTS (COM & LPT), and look for PROLIFIC USB-to-SERIAL Com Port • Double click that to open it • Then click PORT SETTINGS, then ADVANCED • Change the COM PORT NUMBER to COM1(or any other com port not in use) • Then click OK • If you get a warning message, click YES • Then click OK, and close DEVICE MANAGER • Finally, restart your PC
