C, Pointers, Tips, Tricks
Advanced C: Tips and Techniques is for the legion of C programmers who are interested in learning more about C and how to use it effectively. The techniques in this book are the outgrowth of our efforts to write applications programs in C and our development of course materials for seminars on C programming. Many people, therefore, contributed to the wealth of information we present, making this book very much a group project. A major goal of our book is to present advanced techniques often shared by experienced C programmers but that have little or no documentation. Our approach to advanced C, by the way, is somewhat different than other books on the subject. Instead of showing you how to port techniques from other languages to C (like doubly linked lists, binary trees, and so forth), we develop techniques from parts of C that don't exist in the other languages. Although this makes some of our techniques not applicable to other languages, it doesn't make them any less valuable.
