I have a code in javascript which calls a webmethod in c-sharp ,the javascript code and web method are given below

but when I run the code I get an error as

I have a hunch maybe there is something wrong with the paramenters ,maybe they are not in the proper format?

You are not providing a value for the @by parameter. Try adding a breakpoint in the catch statement to see what the error is. If you don't get to that stage the try posting the request body so that people can see what the request is and answer with more idea of the details.
